Mamou Cajun Music Festival

Date: August 13 and 14th
Venue: Mamou, Louisiana

Mark Your Calendars! Cajun Food, Cajun Music and Tons of Cajun The Mamou Cajun Music Festival began as a one-day festival presenting some of the local Cajun musicians to the citizens of Mamou and Evangeline Parish. It has since become what it is today, a two-day music festival, presenting traditional Cajun musicians, dancing, food, and contests.

Summer Fest

Date: August 14th
Time: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Venue: Parc International, Lafayette

This end of summer extravaganza features Kid's Splash Fest, family concert, unique boutiques & vendors and a volleyball tournament.

Wayne Toups at 11:30 a.m., Side Show at 2 p.m., Mike Dean Band at 4:30 p.m., and Poison Tribute Band at 7 p.m. Event benefits the Free World Foundation. Bring towels and extra clothing because you may get wet!

Delcambre Shrimp Festival

Date: August 18th - 22nd
Venue: Shrimp Festival Grounds, Delcambre, LA

Shrimp cook-off, pageants, fais-do-do, carnival rides and more. Held annually the third full weekend in August.

Family Festival

Date: August 21st
Venue: Lake Charles Civic Center

Summer would not be complete without the Family and Youth Family Festival. This event will be held at the Lake Charles Civic Center Coliseum, Saturday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The festival provides an alcohol free environment where families can enjoy wholesome activities such as a hands-on Children's Factory, live musical entertainment, a petting zoo, a fun zone with athletic games, clowns and more.

Gueydan Duck Festival

Date: August 26th - 29th
Venue: Duck Festival Grounds, Gueydan, LA

Enjoy duck calling contests, skeet shooting competition, dog trails, pageant, cooking contests, parade, music, food, carnival and more. The festival is held annually the weekend before Labor Day.

28th Annual Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival

Date: September 4th
Venue: Zydeco Festival Grounds, Plaisance, LA

Join the Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival for their annual event held on the Saturday before Labor Day at the Zydeco Festival Grounds, located at 457 Zydeco Road in Plaisance, LA.
