Palmetto Terrace Neighborhood Center.
Palmetto Terrace is the perfect example of how family housing and Fort Polk are constantly improving. The first Neighborhood Center built at Fort Polk is located in this neighborhood. The Palmetto Terrace neighborhood consists of a combination of new and older homes. Homes are available in two, three, four and five bedrooms for JNCO, SNCO and CGO and five bedrooms. The new homes have a sleek design and have all the amenities the modern Army family needs. The older homes were built in the mid 1970s and underwent major renovations in 1995. They are continually being updated to meet the needs of today's families. A 3-year major renovation project is currently underway on sixty CGO homes. Palmetto Terrace is conveniently located near South Polk Elementary School, the library, the commissary, PX and walking trails.
